NEW YORK, NY – (December 22, 2025) – Endeavour, a leading global developer of data centers and related energy solutions, is proud to congratulate Dr. Deepak Divan on being named a 2025 Fellow by the National Academy of Inventors (NAI). Dr. Divan, who joined Endeavour in September 2025, leads GridTran, a new initiative to develop next-generation DC energy infrastructure to support the rapidly growing demands of AI data centers, electrified transportation, generation and storage resources, and modern industrial systems.

Dr. Divan Is widely recognized around the world as an innovator in power electronics and grid transformation. The honor recognizes Dr. Divan for his contributions to technology and society, in particular his work laying the groundwork for gridforming inverter control that enables high-renewables integration. His innovation on softswitching converters that enable efficient energy storage, EV charging and industrial controls has been essential for the rise of the global $70 billion power electronics industry.

“Being named an NAI Fellow is a tremendous honor,” said Dr. Divan. “These achievements are a result of many decades of work by my team and me to rethink how electricity is delivered and managed to solve real problems, to drive practical innovations that matter, and to get them to market.

Prior to joining Endeavour, Dr. Divan served as a professor at Georgia Tech’s School of Electrical and Computer Engineering from 2004 to 2025 and was the Founding Director of the Center for Distributed Energy. He holds more than 130 issued and pending U.S. and international patents, and has authored 400 refereed publications, including co-authoring the highly regarded book Energy 2040: Aligning Innovation, Economics and Decarbonization, which Forbes recognized as a top 10 “must read” business book for 2025.

“Dr. Divan has made lasting contributions to power electronics and grid technologies that continue to shape how modern energy systems evolve,” said Jakob Carnemark, Founder and CEO of Endeavour. “His election as a National Academy of Inventors Fellow is a well-earned recognition of work that has had real impact across the industry. We’re pleased to have Deepak leading GridTran as we focus on developing practical, scalable energy solutions to support next-generation infrastructure.”

Dr. Divan is a member of the U.S. DOE’s Electricity Advisory Committee, elected Member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, and a past member of the National Academies Board on Energy and Environmental Systems and the National Academies (NASEM) Committee on The Future of Electric Power in the United States. He is a Life Fellow of the IEEE, past president of the IEEE Power Electronics Society, and founder and former International Chair of the IEEE Empower a Billion Lives (EBL) recurring global competition to develop scalable energy access solutions. His honors include the 2024 IEEE Medal in Power Engineering, 2023 IEEE Hingorani Custom Power Medal, and 2006 IEEE William E Newell Field Medal. His work is the seed for many entrepreneurial ventures, including Smart Wires, GridBlock, and GigaGrid.
